Weather StationsThere are a number of weather station operating within Sefton that record various elements of the weather. This weather data can be used in many area of coastal management from comparing wind speeds with storm damage to predicting when natterjack toad may be breeding. Better understanding the local weather can help managers make better informed management decisions.
Ainsdale* After problems with power supply the weather station is now working properly again (07/08/2007)*Sefton Council has installed a Davis Vantage Pro 2 weather station at the Ainsdale Discovery Centre. This station was installed on the 15th May 2007 at 2:40pm (BST). Data from this station is updated on this website at 15 minute intervals to give live weather data. A summary of the weather data can viewed here, whilst a complete list of all the weather variables can be viewed here. Historic monthly records of the data can be accessed here.
