Sefton Coast Forum 2008The 9th Annual Sefton Coast Partnership Forum will be taking place on Saturday 28th June 2008. This year's Forum is based around the theme of Education and Lifelong Learning. Tying-in with Liverpool's year as European Capital of Culture, we are hoping to showcase some of the many events and activities which already occur along the Coast involving young people, schools, families, students and volunteers. There are a huge array of opportunities already out there for people to learn about, understand and maybe influence the management of this restless coast. The title of the Forum, 'My Coast, My Future', indicates that the Sefton Coast is looking forward to the future and hoping to bring our community - residents, visitors and academics alike - along on what is likely to prove a fascinating journey into a world affected by climate and coastal change! Anyone who would like to attend should register their interest. This can be done by contacting Mrs Lorna Lander at lorna.lander@planning.sefton.gov.uk or telephone her on 0151 934 3605. Alternatively the registration form can be downloaded here, completed and returned to Mrs Lander at the address stated on the form. This is a free all day event, places will limited therefore registration is essential. Allocation will be on a first come first served basis. At the Forum there will be the Volunteer Award presentation. This is where the partnership thanks and recognises the many volunteers for their valuable contribution they make to the coast. The Volunteer Award is open to all to nominate. If anyone knows someone who they feel have done valuable work on the coast full details and a nomination form is available here or alternatively they can contact Mrs Lorna Lander. Closing date for nomination forms to be received in Friday 16th May 2008.
