Title Modelling the effects of Nitrogen deposition on rare sand dune plant species
Undertaken by Dr. L Jones, Dr. S. Smart
Project Description
Focusing on up to 5 RDB or nationally rare/scarce species, the project will characterise their soil requirements and, using vegetation and soil models, estimate their likely sensitivity to increased levels of nitrogen deposition (species chosen are: Petalophyllum ralfsii, Equisetum variegatum, Parnassia Palustris, Centaurium littorale, Epipactis leptochila … dunensis. Locations surveyed will be around the whole UK coast.
