Research proposal

Proposal Title
Invertebrates associated with Isle of Man Cabbage.

Proposed by
Dr. P.H. Smith

Brief description of the proposal
Isle of Man Cabbage (Coincya monensis ssp. monensis) is a British endemic which has important populations on the Sefton Coast and is the subject of a Species Action Plan in the North Merseyside BAP. Dr C. R Hipkin of Swansea University is currently preparing a "Biological Flora" on this species for the Journal of Ecology. Apparently, very little is known about invertebrates associated with the plant, including pollinators and herbivores. This project will aim to fill this gap in our knowledge.
