Research proposal Proposal Title Ecohydrology and sediment/soil properties of dune slacks Proposed by Ken Pye Brief description of the proposal 1) to document the physical, chemical and biological properties of the Sefton coast dune slacks; 2) to identify functional inter relationships between the characteristics; 3) to identify changes and their causes over time Who should be contacted initially to take forward the research proposal? What area(s) of the coast will this cover? All of the dune area What permissions will be needed? All landowners, including Natural England Why will the research be useful? Vegetation (NVC) data/maps, limited soil information, water table records for Ainsdale NNR and network of environment agency boreholes over shorter period of time What information is currently available? There is an existing literature and a body of knowledge held by a small number of experts in this field. What level is the research appropriate for?
