Coastal Communities

The communities that exist along and near the Sefton Coast each provide a unique sense of place. Some are of ancient foundation and have long recorded histories, while others are more recent creations. Each community has been shaped by nature and by man. Each place has its own atmosphere and character, determined by the interaction of topography and human endeavour, which is reflected in its natural amenities and built environment.

The following Profiles and Links, provided by local people and groups, contains snapshots of Sefton’s coastal communities, outlining their individual histories and physical diversities, but also emphasising what links them – location in a unique coastal environment.
