Nature and Wildlife - Best Practice Towards Best Practice in the sustainable management of sand dune habitats Since 1978 a coordinated scheme of management has encouraged the development of good practice in dune conservation management across the Sefton Coast. In 1998 Sefton Council, English Nature and the National Trust, with the support of the EU Life Nature fund, established a project to develop a conservation strategy for this important candidate Special Area of Conservation. The project has prepared a series of best practice notes to disseminate some of the experience.
